The Possibility of Letting Business Unfold

Business is always evolving. Expanding and contracting. The curious possibilities of how it will unfold is full of eager hopefulness.

Gardening is an endeavor in persistent learning and eager hopefulness. A garden is always evolving. Expanding and contracting. It’s the same with business, I may have a vision, but I’m always curious as to how it will actually unfold. It’s the space to allow things to unfold that I treasure so much.

It seems the world is unfolding right now. Here where I am in the Northern Hemisphere springtime is in the air and I’m cherishing the afternoons outside digging in the dirt and my daily walks noticing all that is springing to life.

This is normally a busy busy time for my green thumb. Typically I’ve had seeds going for a month or so, I’m trying to harden off plants, prep my beds for planting, and searching for some of the plants I haven’t been able to cultivate. But, this year I’m taking it easy.

We are taking it easy on the veggie garden this year so we can see how the sun moves across the yard here at our new house. And so I find myself with a bit of space to dream about the possibilities.

Possibilities that hold an eager hopefulness. I have an expectant anticipation of all that’s possible in the years to come!

I’m curious for what it is to become. What will evolve over time?

I know from experience that it won’t be perfect. That I may envision a few plants together in a particular corner of the garden and for one reason or another I may choose to move those plants in a subsequent year. Or I may plant a favorite flower only to find that it is not right for my garden space and needs to be taken out. Gardening is an endeavor in persistent learning and eager hopefulness.

A garden is always evolving. Expanding and contracting.

And I’m curious about what it will become.

It’s the same with business, I may have a vision, but I’m always curious as to how it will actually unfold. It’s the space to allow things to unfold that I treasure so much.

To acknowledge that projects won’t be perfect, that the business will take turns I can’t anticipate, that ideas may come to life sooner or later than anticipated. This is what I’m curious about: What will unfold?! And how will it unfold?

In the book Zen Mind, Beginners Mind, Shunryu Suzuki stated:

“We can see unknown things as something to be weary of or we can choose to be curious.”

Are you being curious about what is unfolding in your business?

What is possible if you set the intention to be curious?
